16-inch MacBook Pro with Apple M1X chip could arrive in October 2021: report

Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone 13. At the Apple event on September 14, the company is expected to unveil four new iPhone models. These include the iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max. Along with the iPhone, Apple is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 7 and AirPods 3. There have been rumors that the new MacBook Pro will debut at an Apple event in September. However, recent reports suggest that the Apple laptop will be released later this year. Adding to the developments is a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman that there are still “a few weeks”before the new 16-inch MacBook Pro hits the shelves.

“M1X MacBook Pro: 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with high-end M1 chips, MagSafe magnetic charging, miniLED screens, and no touchbars are just around the corner. After delays, please note that they will hit the shelves in the next few weeks,” Gurman said in his Power On weekly newsletter.

The new MacBook Pro is said to come with a host of new upgrades. Rumor has it that the upcoming Apple California Streaming event will have a crowded lineup. We can expect the Apple Watch Series 7 and AirPods 3 to debut at the event alongside the iPhone 13 series.

The debut of the MacBook Pro is likely to take place in October. This shouldn’t come as a surprise since Apple held events last October to celebrate the launch of its Macs. Gurman has not yet announced the exact launch date of the event.

He previously claimed that Pro laptops could be launched between September and November. A separate report from DigiTimes claimed that the new MacBook Pros could be released in September and that Apple could ship the units in October or November.

It is reported that Apple will release a new MacBook Pro with a diagonal of 14 and 16 inches. Both models will have a redesigned chassis, magnetic charging and multiple ports. These include an SD card slot and an HDMI port along with USB Type-C ports.

It is also reported that the new MacBooks will receive an upgraded M1X chip, which can have eight high-performance cores and two power-efficient cores. In addition, the M1X chip will have either 16 or 32 GPU cores. Finally, Apple’s M1X chip is rumored to support up to 64GB of RAM.
