Twitter is a popular social media platform where you can find various forms of content based on images, videos, and text. While it is possible to upload images and even copy text, Twitter has not yet introduced an official way to upload videos to Twitter.
So what will you do if you stumble upon a video on Twitter that you’d like to save to your camera roll or even share with someone who isn’t using the app? Don’t worry; I’ve brought you the easiest ways to download Twitter videos on iPhone, iPad and Mac!
Download Twitter video with online tool
- Click the share icon next to the video tweet.
- Select Copy Link. For Mac, select Copy Tweet Link.
- Visit SSStwitter.com
- Paste the link from the clipboard.
- Click Download.
- Wait a moment and then select the quality of the video to download.
- Wait a while until the process starts.
- On iPhone, select Download. (On a Mac, choose Save)
You can find the downloaded video in the Files app on iPhone and Finder on Mac.
Notes: Other than the one we used here, you can use any other online tool to download videos from Twitter. Just make sure the websites are free of malware.
Use Screen Recording to Capture Twitter Video
If you don’t want to try hard, you can just do screen recording on iPhone or screen recording on Mac. However, you will have additional clips at the beginning and end of the screen recording. You can fix this problem quickly by using any video editing apps for iPhone or Mac to fix these problems.
You may not see it, but the Shortcuts app is great for doing a variety of tasks and downloading Twitter videos on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Below is what you need to do:
Save Twitter videos with the Shortcuts app
- Open tvdl.app with Safari and click “Get Shortcut”.
- Click Add Untrusted Shortcut.
- Open Twitter and tap the share icon below the video tweet.
- Click Share via…
- Touch TVDL v3.1 (you may have a different number).
- When a notification appears, click OK.
- Select the desired video quality and click OK.
- Allow the shortcut to access photos so it can save videos locally. And everything is ready! Note. You only need to complete steps 6 to 8 for the first bypass.
Use Third Party Apps to Download Twitter Videos
Apart from the other methods mentioned, you can also use third-party apps to download Twitter videos on your iPhone and Mac.
While many apps offer the same, we chose AnySave, which is available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

- Paste the link to the video tweet.
- Click Save.
When you use the app for the first time, you will need to agree to the terms and grant access to the Photos app in order to save the file.
