Despite Revelio’s constant use of spells, The Hogwarts Legacy contains many charming hidden secrets scattered throughout the wizarding world. Of all the hidden mysteries, the Chamber of Secrets and the Basilisk are arguably the greatest hidden mysteries that the average Hogwarts fifth year student should know about. Jokes aside, this is what the second Harry Potter movie and book is based on. And that’s what made a few players wonder if it even exists in the game. How to find the Chamber of Secrets in the Hogwarts Legacy
You can find and reach the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets by using the Flame Point of the Lower Grand Staircase. As in the Harry Potter books and films, this entrance is located next to the girl’s bathroom, or more commonly known as Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom. However, we suggest players don’t expect her to be roaming around as Elizabeth Myrtle hasn’t been born yet.
So, here is where you can find the Chamber of Secrets in the Hogwarts Legacy:
- First, go to the lower front stairs using the fireplace flame.
- When you spot a ladder, go down and head in the right direction.
- Then follow the corridor which will lead you to two separate bathrooms.
- Enter the girl’s bathroom on the right and cast the Revelio spell.
- You’ll find a shell that looks like the Harry Potter movies and books, with a snake inscription that opens the Chamber of Secrets.

- In addition, you will also find a field page that lists an inscribed snake in one of the brass shells.
How to unlock and enter the Chamber of Secrets
Unfortunately, you cannot enter or unlock the Chamber of Secrets in Hogwarts Legacy. To do this, you need to know Parsletongue, the language of snakes. But unfortunately there is no way to learn Parseltongue or enter this hidden secret through any of the main quests or side quests. However, when you use Revelio, you will see a snake carved into one of the faucets or sinks.
The developers may make the Chamber of Secrets available during future DLC expansions. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s wait until WB Games or Avalanche Studios spill the beans. If this happens, we will be sure to update this guide.
How to find the Basilisk Easter Egg in Hogwarts Legacy
Recently, Twitter user @MaximRagey posted that he spotted a giant basilisk slithering across the Slytherin common room. This Basilisk Easter egg was noticed at night by a player who disappeared from view. You can spot this easter egg by heading to the right of the common room. But when you go up the stairs to get a closer look, it turns into a slide, further limiting the players.

Until now, there has been no way or workaround to get past the Basilisk Easter Egg in Hogwarts Legacy. However, Slytherin players can explore this Easter egg at night. Since it is in the Slytherin common room, players from other Houses cannot see the Basilisk Easter Egg. So it’s kind of a bummer for other players.
However, developers Avalanche Studios may release a DLC expansion in the future. By the way, Harry Potter and his friends were in Gryffindor, but they were able to uncover the secrets of the Chamber of Secrets. This was due to the fact that Harry knew Parseltongue or was the heir of Salazar Slytherin. Now do you know who is the heir and direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin in Hogwarts Legacy? Ominis Gaunt!
Thus, players from other houses may also get a chance to witness both secrets in the future. But at the moment it is not available to all players.
