Luckily, Rebreather is not an endgame item as you can find it early on. To be precise, you can find it in a cave near the seashore where your playable character crashes in the intro cinematic. It is highly recommended that you only enter the cave when you have a torch. There is no light inside the cave, and a torch will help you a lot.
Since there will be many twists and turns on your way to the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest, here are the directions:
- Enter the cave by going through the narrow walls.
- Then turn right and continue forward.
- There will be a light flashing in your path. The path ahead will be a low roof so you will have to crawl and move forward.
- Now make all left turns whenever you see two paths.
- At some point, you will see several life jackets and swim rings lying in the water.
- Moving forward along this path, you will see a small pool inside the cave.
- From where you are standing you should be able to see the rebreather on the next side of the pool (next to the light).
- Get to this side by following the path on the right side.
Congratulations, you can now swim underwater longer thanks to the rebreather!
