MW2 and Warzone 2 received a big season 2 drop patch that shook up the best weapon meta. Two new weapons were also added at launch. The first is the ISO Hemlock, which belongs to the assault rifle category. The second is KV Broadside, which belongs to the category of shotguns. The best guns in the new season 2 meta in MW2
RPK’s previous ultimate meta weapon has been dethroned this season. It has been so nerfed that you can no longer call it a meta. Though what will replace it permanently remains to be seen over time. As of now, these weapons listed below are the meta in Season 2 of MW2 and Warzone 2.

Lachman Sub
The classic Lachman Sub, better known as the “MP5”, is still considered one of the best submachine guns. It’s too symbolic for the developers not to make it a viable meta weapon. The Lachman Sub provides the optimum amount of everything a submachine gun has to offer. Fast ADS, decent fire rate, near AR-like range, etc. make it a solid choice. You can be sure that these weapons will most likely always be in the meta, regardless of seasons in MW2.
TAS 56
Just like the real-life “Scar”AR it’s based on, the TAC 56 is a powerful assault rifle. He was already pretty good in his stats in the first season, but it seems like he got even better in the second season. It excels in damage and range. In addition, high-velocity bullets make it even easier to shoot at enemies from a distance. While it can sometimes be outclassed by SMGs and shotguns at close range, overall it’s a solid choice for AR in Season 2.
Sakin MG38
The Sakin MG38 received a much needed buff in Season 2. The classic LMG was liked by many, but always seemed to fall a bit behind in every way. However, it has now become one of the best meta weapons for Season 2, as it always should have been. It boasts a huge 100-round magazine with no attachments by default. Recoil is now also controllable for LMG class weapons. In the new season, this is a good meta-gun.
Vazneva 9k
Vaznev 9k is gradually becoming everyone’s favorite submachine gun. This is the most powerful submachine gun, and also one of the longest range in its class. It doesn’t take long to level up this weapon as it doesn’t have that many levels, which is a good thing. Think of it as the only reliable weapon you know, when it gets into your hands you have enough firepower. It even works quite well without many attachments on it. With an added mag at 45, he can pierce through armor and knock down enemies in Warzone 2 with ease.
M4
The M4 Assault Rifle, the most iconic modern weapon, returns in Season 2 as one of the best weapons around. The M4 is also one of those weapons that never make it out of the meta due to its popularity. But it’s always getting tweaked, luckily it’s even better in Season 2, so M4 fans rejoice. He is always ready for any situation, the only place where he can fail is very close range. Otherwise, the M4 is an unbeatable contender in terms of overall performance compared to all other weapons, not just assault rifles.
