Apple has just released a security update for its various system instances addressing a serious security vulnerability. All of this means that if an Apple device is not patched, hackers can use it to access your data.

Apple releases security updates for zero-day vulnerabilities

This week, Apple released a security update for macOS Ventura, the latest iPhones and iPads, and the Safari web browser. According to Apple’s website, there will be updates for both AppleTV and Apple TV at the same time, but details have yet to be revealed. While expected changes vary from device to device, WebKit, a source-coded web rendering engine, is a very common target.

The Cupertino-based company is unable to share more information about these shortcomings other than specifying updates, company spokesman Scott Radcliffe confirmed. So we won’t know anymore.

Apple had three security flaws in its iPhones, iPads and Macs. They discovered a code execution vulnerability specific to Apple (CVE-2019-3836), which was previously exploited for distribution, who recently blocked iPhone users from accessing their device just days after they thought they had beaten the nasty bug.

On Friday night, an Apple security researcher who discovered this bug suspects that he discovered a bug that allowed him to get hold of iPhones and jailbreak them (although he didn’t give many details).
