Although he appears lifeless, there is no suggestion that Michelle is actually dead. And based on the image for the DLC. A character who appears sitting on a horse that looks like Torrent. He has the same hair as Michelle when we first see him in the game’s opening cutscene.
The DLC could be about waking up Mikella from her cocoon and seeing the destruction left by the Tarnished. So while you learn more about him, he may appear as the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree.
