Just last week, we showed you an amazing app called Morfic that allows you to customize your iPhone wallpaper in new and unique ways.
Initially installed on the App Store for $2.99, the app allowed users to select from an in-app wallpaper library and then customize the elements that make up the wallpaper before eventually applying it to their device.
Customization forms included changing the opacity or color of certain elements, adding functionality to highlight lock screen widgets in iOS 16, and more.
From an announcement posted on Twitter on Thursday afternoon, we learn that Morfic is lowering its paywall to become a free app. This means more people will be able to use the app than ever before.
As far as we can tell, the decision to make Morfic free is due to the fact that the app launched successfully. The developer clearly had a goal in mind when he raised the money from sales, and thanks to the positive response, he achieved this goal.
The developer said the plan should be 100% free for a month or so before switching to ads. The developer promises that ads will not annoy or interfere with the user experience.
There may be a slight delay before the free price tag hits the App Store, but it’s worth keeping an eye out if you were on the fence about trying the app before it went free.
Accessing Morfic for yourself is as easy as visiting the App Store ; jailbreak is not required.
Are you planning to try Morfic on your iPhone now that it’s free to download? Let us know in the comments section below.
