If you have a phone jailbroken with iOS 16 thanks to Palara1n, you may be happy to know that you can use one of my favorite jailbreak tweaks, checkl0ck, to enable your own passcode or biometric authentication (like Touch ID or Face). id) user experience.
Just this weekend, checkl0ck received an update to version 1.5.0, which adds support for iOS 16.0-16.1.2, meaning that even devices with A10 and A11 chips on iOS 16 that couldn’t set a password using palera1n. finally able to do it..
Notably, iOS 16.2 and later is not supported because the developer cites an issue with the Substitute substitution injection and the iCloud daemon.
Other changes in checkl0ck v1.5.0 include the following:
- Fix crash in some apps
- Fixes an issue where the lock icon in the status bar was not displayed on Touch ID devices running iOS 15.
- We fixed an issue that prevented biometric authentication from working in some applications.
The checkl0ck tweak was originally released almost a year ago, and while it was originally intended for the checkra1n jailbreak, it has been ported pretty well for Palera1n jailbreak users on newer firmware versions.
Newfangled support for iOS 16.0-16.1.2 comes about two months after the developer rolled out initial support for iOS 15.
Installing and using checkl0ck means you can add a security barrier between your lock screen and your data, forcing anyone who picks up your device to authenticate themselves with a password or biometric authentication. Non-jailbreak users take it for granted, but checkra1n and palera1n users with A10 or A11 devices cannot do without a tweak like checkl0ck due to security measures implemented by Apple.
If you are the owner of the checkl0ck jailbreak tweak, version 1.5.0 is a free update that you can use right now. Alternatively, you can purchase checkl0ck for $2.99 from the Havoc repository through your favorite package management app.
Will you use checkl0ck now that it can be used with iOS 16.0-16.1.2 devices? Let us know in the comments section below.
