Create and use custom interactive activities in iOS 16 with the ActivityBuilder app.

Live Activity is a feature introduced by Apple in iOS 16 that allows your iPhone to display useful information on the lock screen. Live Activities are interactive notifications that can display information such as your Uber progress, sports scores, or many other types of information.

But if you’ve ever been interested in building your own custom Live Activities, then an intriguing app called ActivityBuilder by iOS developer @Taher_Dev might interest you.

When you load up the ActivityBuilder you will find yourself in an interface where you can choose from many module options such as Calendar, Health, Device or Weather just to name a few and then you You can set up these live actions before they end up being used by your iPhone’s lock screen (or Dynamic Island, if applicable). Some live action can even be viewed in picture-in-picture mode.

When creating a Live Activity using ActivityBuilder, the application gives you the option to choose what information is displayed. For example, if you’re doing a health-based live activity, the app gets data from HealthKit to show you things like step counts and activity rings.

Once you’ve created your Live Activity, the app allows you to launch it immediately so that it stays on your lock screen or elsewhere on your operating system as a picture-in-picture popup. This ensures that you can see the information that is most important to you.

While live activities are a built-in feature in iOS 16, the ActivityBuilder app gives you unique control over this feature in ways we wouldn’t expect to do without a jailbreak. However, the app is a serious gem worth considering downloading if your phone can take advantage of Live Activity.

While the ActivityBuilder app itself can be downloaded for free from the App Store, there is a paid ActivityBuilder Pro subscription that unlocks more advanced customization features. This subscription costs $1.49 per month, or you can pay $11.99 per year or $29.99 for a lifetime license.

Please note that the developer is currently running a New Year’s Sale on all purchases that will last until the end of February, so be sure to take advantage of the prices above before they go up.
