Twitter is working on a Blue subscription to get the ads out of the way. An offer that will be more expensive than the existing one.
Twitter is far from the storm. Elon Musk has initiated many projects to try and make a difference. In particular, this applies to paid subscriptions that offer various benefits to interested users. And it may happen that soon there will be a new paid offer that will allow you to remove ads from the platform.
Twitter is working on a Blue subscription to make ads disappear
Twitter is working on a new, more expensive Blue subscription offering that will allow users to enjoy the benefits of the platform without seeing any ads. “Twitter ads are too frequent and too big. We are doing what is necessary to address these two issues in the coming weeks,” new Twitter owner Elon Musk tweeted on the platform this Saturday. “And there will be a more expensive subscription so that all the ads disappear.”
In the US, Twitter Blue currently costs $11 per month if users subscribe directly through the iOS or Android app. On the web, where Apple and Google don’t charge the 30% fee they charge for all in-app transactions, the service is logically offered for $8 a month. And since Twitter began reviewing its subscription in November, being able to see fewer ads in the timeline was one of the main benefits the company touted, but that benefit is still listed as “coming soon”on the subscription.
An offer that will be more expensive than the existing one
By some estimates, Twitter’s ad revenue has plummeted since Elon Musk bought the company last October. According to a recent report by The Information, a former manager told employees on Tuesday that daily earnings were down 40% from the same day a year earlier. An internal slide uncovered by a US blog says Twitter attributed the loss to Twitter Blue’s first relaunch, when the platform was inundated with verified account trolls who used the paid verification feature to impersonate brands, celebrities and other public accounts.
In addition, there will be a more expensive subscription without ads.
