Apple Music Classical will go on sale March 28. Classical music lovers will be pleased.
Apple already said it was working on a dedicated classical music app when it bought and then shut down the Primephonic streaming service. This was in 2021 and until now we didn’t know when this new app would be available. The Cupertino-based company recently announced that Apple Music Classical will be available on March 28 for those who already have an Apple Music subscription. Users with an Individual, Student, Family, or Apple One plan will be able to access it, but customers with an Apple Music Voice plan will not be able to.

At launch, Apple Music Classical will be available on all iPhones running iOS 15.4 or later. Apple explains that an Android version of the app is coming “soon.”The catalog contains more than 5 million tracks, including the most recent titles, as well as “many recognized masterpieces”. The Cupertino-based company also explains that you can stream music up to 192kHz/24bit lossless. And “thousands”of recordings are available in spatial audio. At the same time, the apple brand specifies that part of its classic catalog consists of “thousands”of exclusive albums.
Classical music lovers will be fine
Apart from music, you can also enjoy written content such as composer biographies, keyword descriptions, and “very detailed guides”. Apple also explains that it has completely redesigned the search functionality specifically for classical music queries, and the app will offer more than 700 playlists already compiled. The rest of the app offers a design very similar to Apple Music. One of the major changes, and a very noticeable one, is the replacement of the modern sans-serif with serifs for main headings and subheadings.
