Apple now offers customers a video chat with the seller

Apple is getting a buy with video specialist feature. Ideal for those who need to interact with sellers.

When it comes to shopping, everyone has their own habits. Some will do everything or almost everything to avoid any contact with the seller, others, on the contrary, will need this contact to get information, recommendations, answers to questions, etc. If you’re more in the second category, know that Apple may have a solution tailored just for you from the comfort of your home. The Cupertino-based company is launching a feature called “Buy with an expert via video” (“Buy with an expert via video”).

Apple Gets Buy With Video Specialist Feature

This feature allows US residents who want to purchase an iPhone to have a video with an Apple seller. It then becomes possible to ask for advice on a model to buy, bypass payment options, or learn more about the transition process from an Android device.

This video call option is available from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm local time every day. The Apple brand told Engadget that this feature is available from any device that can visit the Apple website. You can also communicate only by sound, so the Specialist, of course, will not see you.

Ideal for those who need to interact with sellers

It won’t help you if you want to get started with the device, and you probably won’t get the answers you might find in a full test. You also won’t be able to use this new feature if you’re looking for a Mac or any other Apple product. However, it can be very handy if you don’t want to browse through product pages to find this or that information. And in a way, it also makes Apple’s remote sales service more accessible if, for example, you can’t get into an Apple Store.

This innovation comes at an important time for Apple. Like many other equipment manufacturers, it has been a pretty tough time since the fall of this year as the economic downturn and supply constraints impacted sales. Such a tool on its own won’t play a big role in boosting sales, but it can certainly help customers who might otherwise be hesitant to place an order for an iPhone.
