Nexus offers the ability to customize the iOS 16 style lock screen for jailbroken iOS 14 and 15 devices.

If you’re almost tempted to upgrade from a hackable firmware to iOS 16 due to the many different ways you can customize your lock screen on a standard device these days, worry no more.

A recently released jailbreak tweak called Nexus from iOS developer iCraze provides a similar lock screen editing experience for jailbroken iOS 14 and 15 devices that looks and feels so familiar you’ll almost forget you’re not running iOS 16.

As you can see for yourself in the screenshots provided, Nexus allows you to change the lock screen text font, size, color, alignment, and more for the date and time indicators separately from each other.

But more than that, it even lets you change the offset and delve into other goodies, like hiding distractions from the lock screen like “No old notifications”text, Face ID glyph, and confirmation buttons when using the flashlight and camera. Fast button action.

Once installed, the tweak will ask you to activate and then reboot your device. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be greeted with a pop-up that will teach you how to press and hold on the lock screen to enter the Nexus setup interface:

After you open the setting interface, you will find that it is divided into four groups, including time, date, notifications, and more, which we will discuss below:

Time

In the “Time”section, you can:

  • Enable and set custom time font size
  • Enable and install custom time font
  • Select the time font to be left-aligned, center-aligned, or right-aligned.
  • Adjust horizontal offset manually
  • Adjust vertical offset manually
  • Enable and set custom time font color

date

In the “Date”section, you can:

  • Enable and set custom date font size
  • Enable and set custom date font
  • Adjust horizontal offset manually
  • Adjust vertical offset manually
  • Enable and set custom date font color

Notifications

In the Notifications section, you can:

  • Adjust Horizontal Offset in Portrait Orientation
  • Adjust vertical offset in portrait orientation
  • Adjust Horizontal Offset in Landscape Orientation
  • Adjust vertical offset in landscape orientation
  • Enable hiding text “No old notifications”
  • Enable Easy Dismiss Notifications

Another

In the Other section, you can:

  • Import configuration
  • Export Configuration
  • Reset default settings
  • Hide the Face ID icon on the lock screen
  • Confirm before using quick actions with flashlight or camera.

Despite all these configurations, iCraze says the Nexus should be compatible with just about any jailbreak setup that doesn’t interfere with watch viewing. Tested jailbreak settings that appear to be compatible include the following:

  • Exiwall
  • Complications
  • axon
  • Eneco
  • Mac Pass
  • last look
  • veza
  • And possibly others…

Nexus is a fantastic jailbreak setup for the price, currently $1.49 via the Havoc repository on your favorite package manager app within the first 12 hours of launch. When those 12 hours are up, the Nexus will cost $1.99, so grab it now! As a reminder, Nexus is only compatible with jailbroken iOS 14 and 15 devices.
