Tekken 8 release date speculation, character roster, plot and more

While the announcement of Tekken 8 in September 2022 came as a surprise, it’s no surprise that players are looking for a release date, character roster, and other speculation related to the game. Tekken 7 is one of the most impressive fighting games released in the last decade. So it’s only natural that there are a huge number of players waiting for the next game to come out as soon as possible. Since you are here, you are one of these players, and your excitement may be on the same level as ours. Therefore, we encourage you to continue reading below to see everything we know about the game so far.

Tekken 8 release date

While it’s not official, it’s unlikely that the game will be released before the end of 2023. It is realistic to expect a release date for Tekken 8 sometime in early 2024, around March or April. Since the game is being built on Unreal Engine 5 from the ground up, it would only make sense to release it in 2024, otherwise the game might be unnecessarily rushed.

Keep in mind that an official date has yet to be announced, but the trailer was enough to give fans a reassuring spectacle.

List of Tekken 8 characters

So far, several characters have been confirmed. While more may be added later, these are the Tekken 8 characters at the time of writing:

  • Nina Williams
  • Jin Kazama
  • Kazuya Mishima
  • Paul Phoenix
  • Marshall Lowe
  • Jack-8
  • King
  • Lars Alexandersson
  • Jun Kazama

Trailer Tekken 8

While it’s unlikely that you might have missed it, here’s the first trailer for the game, released back in September 2022. As you can see, the trailer belongs to Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima who are fighting each other. And if the disclaimer is any indication, it could be close to the graphics we can expect once the game is released.

Tekken 8 Story

The trailer was careful not to give up in terms of story. The ending of Tekken 7 showed that the story would continue around Jin Kazama as he hopes to end this battle once and for all by defeating Kazuya Mishima. On the other hand, Kazuya defeated Heihachi while the war between the Mishima Zaibatsu and the G Corporation continues to ravage the world.

The story of Tekken 8 will likely continue in this vein, but we’ll find out more as soon as new gameplay footage arrives. The story also features Jun Kazama, Jin’s mother, who was last seen in Tekken 2. However, it is unknown what role she will play.

That’s all there is to the Tekken 8 release date, character roster, and other speculation.
