The outdated jailbreakpalera1n is no longer recommended as the team encourages users to use palera1n-c instead

When it comes to jailbreaking iOS and iPadOS 15 or 16 devices with an A9-A11 chip, there is no better tool than Palera1n.

Just last month, the team released Palara1n-c, a C-based rewrite of a popular jailbreak variant for older devices vulnerable to checkm8 bootrom exploits . . sh will be officially deprecated.

So what does this mean? In short, if you rely on the palera1n jailbreak in any capacity at all, then you should use variant C rather than the deprecated palera1n jailbreak. itsnebulalol says this is because palera1n-c is a “big step forward”and “fixes many of the previous issues.”

We tend to agree. We’ve tried both palera1n and palera1n-c and the latter is not only faster but also smoother and requires fewer dependencies installed on your machine to use.

Both tools are still only available for macOS or Linux, but you can deploy a great flash drive-based option called palen1x to Windows machines if needed.

While technically users can still use the outdated Palara1n jailbreak, it’s unlikely the team will get parallel support since they’ve focused all their efforts on the newer tool, palera1n-c. However, we recommend switching to palera1n-c if you haven’t already.
