Dead Island 2 has different enemies that you have to fight and among them you will need to defeat Alesis Hernandez in order to progress through the game’s story. He can be an annoying boss because his moves deal caustic damage. And the fight can end very easily if you’re not careful. But don’t worry, here are some tips to help you beat him easily.
How to beat Alesis Hernandez in Dead Island 2
The best way to defeat Alesis is to go after him and spam him with your attacks. He is a very nasty zombie who will puke and try to spit at you. Like previous boss Becky the Bride, Alesis is also hardy. In fact, he is slower than her. So fighting him should be easy for the most part. But unlike her, he will use many throwing attacks against you. Here are all the moves he uses in combat and how you can counter them:
- Vomit Spray: Alesis sprays vomit around her in an arc. It stays on the ground, so not only do you need to avoid hitting it. But also make sure you don’t step on or walk on it. His vomit contains Caustic X, so not only will he lower your HP, but he will harm you over time. This attack is pretty easy to avoid as you just need to back off when he vomits. Go to the side to be behind him and land a few hits.
- Caustic Spit: I might call this a spit move, but it’s actually about the size of a cannonball. And to make matters worse, it explodes, dealing AoE damage. So the best way to counter this is to dodge a few times and move away from him.
- Grab Attacks: When you are inside each of the Alesis, it will attempt to grab you. Another easy attack that you can counter just by dodging.
After you deplete 25% of his HP, other zombies will join this fight. So all you have to do now is fight like before and also control other zombies. It may sound complicated, but the fight is actually very simple.
I used a katana in this fight and it ended pretty quickly so try using a slash weapon. Given that he has a fairly large hitbox, you shouldn’t have any problems with his attack. Another tip to get rid of his HP faster is to use the Shuriken Curveball item. Landing all three of them on his stomach also does a lot of damage to him.
After you are done fighting him, just take care of the rest of the zombies and you will be able to talk to Michael. If you’re having trouble in this fight, I suggest you use the workbench and come back again to challenge him with better weapons. Then you shouldn’t have any problems with his victory!
