How to Locate Every VHS Video of Amanda the Explorer

By solving puzzles in the attic, you can find six Hidden Tapes. The standard cassettes are episodes of Amanda The Explorer, whilst the secret tapes provide peeks into someone’s life and some weird events. The next tape is hinted at in each episode, but if you attempt anything new, you get a secret tape. Keep in mind that the letter from Aunt Kate at the beginning of the game warned that once you watch the first recording, there is no turning back. Your journey with Amanda and Wooly begins with the first standard VHS tape, which is conveniently located next to the television.

Secret Tape 1: You will understand the solution to the riddle to obtain the hidden tape after seeing the first episode. Turn around when the tape is finished and look for the toy oven at the opposite end of the room. A pie plate and some plastic fruit are close. Do not set the clock or the temperature before placing the peach in the pie dish. Close the oven door after placing the pie plate inside. An orange covert video will be in the oven when it’s finished.

Secret Tape 2: Musical notation is the next hint. In the attics, there is a toy piano that conceals a tape. To reveal a blue VHS with the letters F A C A D E, tap each key.

Secret Tape 3: Have you seen the unsettling doll in the red outfit with the sewn mouth? She has to get a new flower for her hair because one is missing. Proceed to the back of the room, to the right of the window, and behind the play oven. Pick up the little plant pot that is there. To the right of the TV, where there is a sizable puddle and water dripping on the floor, turn back in the direction of the doll. A flower will sprout if the pot is placed in the drippy puddle. Grab it, then place it on the doll. She says “thanks” and motions for you to turn around. Do it even though it seems incredibly creepy and like she’ll stab you in the back if you turn around from her. She has a crimson VHS video waiting for you when you turn around.

Secret Tape 4: You’ll notice that the Petting Zoo episode is all about animal sounds as you watch it. Amanda questions you about the name of the Daddy Chicken when you visit the hens. As you now know from the earlier hidden video, Sam is the real name of the show’s creator and the father of the live-action Amanda (Rebecca). Enter “SAM” and watch for Amanda’s reply. Where should we go next?, Amanda wonders. Go to the See ‘N Say animal noise toy instead of watching TV. The ground is covered in green tape.

Secret Tape 5: The episode of Amanda The Explorer that follows shows Wooly getting hurt while they are in the park. Inform Amanda that Wooly has a knee injury, and after finding out which room to go into, turn off the TV and look behind you for the purple covert tape.

Secret Tape 6: A sixth blue secret movie appears in the final location once each hidden VHS has been watched and put on the bookcases next to the TV.
