There is no doubt that you have heard talk about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s less-than-stellar performance if you have been following the news around the PC release of the game. Fortunately, since the game is on the PC, modders are already stepping in to help. One such modder, PureDark, is attempting to improve the game’s performance by integrating DLSS. To download and utilize the DLSS mod for Jedi Survivor, follow these instructions.
Using the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor DLSS mod created by PureDark
Please be aware that PureDark has not yet formally released the DLSS mod and that it is still very much a work in progress if you want to jump right in. The fact that they want to finish polishing the mod shortly suggests that a release for the general public should be imminent, and ideally other modders will go on working on it.
The game runs more smoothly as a result of PureDark’s successful integration of Nvidia’s DLSS technology into Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
View the DLSS implementation in action in the video below from PureDark. Thanks to DLSS, there is a noticeable frame rate increase; there are some graphical artifacts, but that is expected given the nature of the mod.
Uncertain of the meaning of any of this? Nvidia’s exclusive AI frame interpolator known as DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, creates new frames by sampling the ones that already exist.
Simply said, a game that utilizes DLSS typically runs and looks better. DLSS is typically restricted to a small number of games, but with some technical know-how, modders can make it work with other games as well.
While AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution, or FSR, which aims to upsample frames into a higher resolution, is supported by Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, it does not natively support DLSS. Although this did not appear to be the case with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s performance on AMD GPUs, the end result is practically the same as DLSS.
So, keep an eye on PureDark’s YouTube channel if you want to get your hands on the DLSS mod for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Since PureDark explicitly stated that they have no plans to continue polishing the mod and will release it to the public very soon, hopefully the wait won’t be too long.
