Get a Wanderlust event-themed Face ID glyph with this new MacDirtyCow & kfd add-on

If you were a huge fan of this past week’s Apple event and loved everything about what you saw and what Apple announced, then chances are you might appreciate a new add-on for the MacDirtyCow & kfd exploits dubbed AppleEvent Lock 2023 by iOS developer Kumiki.

AppleEvent Lock 2023 for the Lock Screen based on Wanderlust.

This simple add-on merely replaces your Lock Screen’s animated Face ID glyph with one that looks and feels a lot like the promotional glyph of Apple’s 2023 iPhone announcement event called Wanderlust, and as you’d expect, it’s fully animated too.

Examples of this replaced glyph appear in the screenshots above, which show off just how lustrous it looks. Apple chose this design to speak to the iPhone 15 Pro & 15 Pro Max’s titanium outer shell construction, including the new color schemes Apple uses for these devices.

When you use Face ID to unlock your iPhone, AppleEvent Lock 2023 makes the Lock Screen look more aesthetically pleasing at a glance.

If you’re interested in giving the AppleEvent Lock 2023 add-on a try, then you can download it for free from the Misaka package manager app. Please note that as it requires MacDirtyCow or kfd, you must have an exploit-susceptible device running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2 or 16.0-16.1 beta 1.

Anyone who isn’t already using the Misaka package manager app can install it using either of the two methods discussed in detail in the following tutorials:

  • How to perma-sign Misaka with TrollStore on iOS 15.0-15.4.1
  • How to sideload Misaka with Sideloadly on any firmware
