Warner Media delays Suicide Squad until 2023

Rocksteady’s upcoming Suicide Squad game Kill the Justice League has reportedly been “quietly”delayed until 2023. This was reported by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. The game was one of the most anticipated games of the year and marks the return of Rocksteady, as Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is the studio’s first game since 2015’s Batman Arkham Knight.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League takes place in the same universe as previous Rocksteady games, the Arkhamverse. As the title suggests, this follows the story of Amanda Waller’s supervillain squad who take on the Justice League, which is under the control of the supervillain Brainiac.

There has been no official announcement from WarnerMedia or Rocksteady, so the game is still slated for release in 2022, as revealed in The Game Awards trailer.

Suicide Squad ‘Kill the Justice League’ could be released in 2023

WB Games has several major AAA titles scheduled for this year, including the likes of Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights. The latter follows the story of the Bat-family after the “death”of Bruce Wayne as they take over the Court of Owls.

The game will not take place in the Arkhamverse, it is a standalone game with a completely new story. The game will be developed by WB Games Montreal, the studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins.

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most anticipated games of the year, set in the magical world of Harry Potter. So it’s safe to say that WarnerMedia might not want to push too hard with all these big releases, so maybe delaying The Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League might be a smart move.

The Kill League Suicide Squad will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PS5 when it launches.
