Honor has unveiled its new budget 5G smartphone in China. Honor X30 Max is the company’s latest 5G smartphone aimed at users who consume a lot of content on their smartphone. The X30 Max features a large 7.09-inch display, which is pretty rare in smartphones these days. However, it does not have an AMOLED display. The Honor X series smartphone is equipped with a dual camera on the back. The phone also has a powerful battery under the hood. Honor launched the X30 Max in two storage configurations. The base variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage was launched for 2399 yuan. There is also a 256GB storage option priced at RMB 2699). It is available in three colors – Black, Sea Blue and Titanium Silver.

Specifications and features

As mentioned above, the X30 Max is equipped with a 7.09-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. The screen has 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and offers a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio despite having a waterdrop notch at the top. Honor claims the phone has a maximum brightness of 780 nits and supports HDR10.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM as standard. The phone has up to 256 GB of internal memory. It packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging. The phone ships with Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.

On the back, the dual camera system includes a 64MP main camera. It also features a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, the phone has an 8-megapixel front camera. It has stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port. The phone weighs 228 grams and is 8.3mm thick.
