Swedish studio Hazelight named it Game of the Year at the 2021 Game Awards.
The 2021 Game Awards was like no other video game event this year. Some of the biggest and most beloved games of the year competed for Game of the Year, while others took home awards in specialized categories for best game development ever, best storytelling, or even best art direction. ‘It Takes Two’, one of the biggest indie hits of the year, got its hands on the Grail by showing that big budget games can be beaten by small projects.
