Redmi K50 leaked gaming smartphone specs on Weibo, possibly Poco-branded launch

Xiaomi has confirmed that it will release new flagship smartphones Redmi K-series in February. The K50 series will debut in China very soon, but the launch date remains unknown. The company is expected to unveil several smartphones at the event along with the vanilla and Pro K50 models.

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the details. Meanwhile, a new leak has revealed details of the specifications of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. The device will be launched as the successor to the Redmi K40 Gaming which was launched as the Poco F3 GT. Let’s take a look at the specs, features and other details of Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.

Specifications of Redmi K50 Gaming Edition

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is rumored to launch alongside the K50 and K50 Pro. Digital Chat Station claims that the device will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In a separate leak, tipster Panda listed the device’s display details and other specs.

The K50 Gaming smartphone is said to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display, the same as the previous model. However, it will have curved sides and Full HD+ resolution. As expected, the phone will support a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also have a tiny cutout at the top for the front camera.

The tiny notch will have a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. There will be a triple camera on the back. It is said to have either a 48MP main camera or a 64MP sensor. In addition, the camera module will include a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera.

The leaker also notes that the phone could be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 system-on-chip. It is said to pack a 4,700mAh battery and also support 120W fast charging. It is worth noting that the K40 Gaming Edition comes with a Dimensity 1200 SoC. Redmi is also reportedly working on a smartphone with the new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC.

The K50 Gaming is said to be equipped with a dual VC cooling system as well as trigger buttons to enhance the gaming experience. Other details about the device remain unknown. We will share additional information as it becomes available.
