The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is available at a massive discount during the Great Amazon Festival, but is it worth buying?

Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S20 FE 5G. The premium 5G smartphone has been launched with a starting price of $645. A few months after the official launch, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is available at a significant discount. During the ongoing Amazon Great Indian Festival, the price of the Galaxy S20 FE dropped to $497. The price can be reduced by another $37, including bank rebate. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G price, specifications and other details.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G price

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G comes in 8GB + 128GB configuration and is available for $497. With a 10% discount on an ICICI Bank credit card and a bonus $20 discount, the price drops to $460. Alternatively, users can trade in their old smartphone for up to $200 off.

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The display has thin bezels around it and a cutout at the top for the front camera. It also has a 20:9 aspect ratio, supports 120Hz refresh rate, and is HDR10+ certified.

Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with 8GB of RAM. The phone packs a 4500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. It is IP68 waterproof and supports wireless charging.

There is a triple camera setup on the back of the phone with a 12MP main camera, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, there is a 32 MP front camera. It runs OneUI based on Android 10 out of the box. Samsung has released the Android 11 update for the S20 FE 5G.

Is it worth buying it?

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G was originally released to international markets in 2020. Even with a price tag of $497 for the holiday season, the smartphone doesn’t seem to offer great value for money. We say this because the premium segment of the smartphone market currently offers a plethora of options. This includes the likes of Realme GT 5G, iQOO 7 Legend, Mi 11X Pro, OnePlus 9R, etc. While these smartphones are available at more or less the same price, they come with the latest generation of hardware under the hood.

The Galaxy S20 FE’s Snapdragon 865 SoC may fall behind by a small margin when it comes to raw performance. That being said, the SoC is no slouch and can provide good performance for at least the next 2-3 years. It’s also a no-brainer for those who want a flagship-level premium Samsung smartphone experience without paying the flagship price.
