Manticore Games is introducing Axial Tilt, an interactive world that serves as the hub of the metaverse in Core as well as Fortnite Creative, to celebrate the release of the 2021 Game Awards.
Available on Core (a free platform with built-in game creation) and Fortnite Creative (a sandbox game mode), Axial Tilt will feature a virtual red carpet as well as an evening with a DJ as a special guest. Please note that all fans who participate in the ceremony through this metaverse experience will be able to receive an exclusive profile picture. They will also be able to vote for the nominees live as certain categories are submitted for an instant run to win exclusive prizes.

While the lineup for the 2021 Game Awards is available exclusively on Core, Axial Tilt is a world that exists in many instances in the Metaverse, most recently launched earlier this year on Fortnite Creative (card 0960-3147-4924 in ‘Island Code tab). The two versions of Axial Tilt offer a similar look and feel, however the mini-games and worlds are slightly different and there will be a transition between them in the future.
Metaverse Seduces Game Awards 2021
“I’m always looking for new and exciting ways to introduce The Game Awards to new audiences,”said Geoff Keighley, creator, executive producer and host of The Game Awards. โThe emergence of new metaverse platforms such as Core and the vast virtual experiences they provide during live events have presented an incredible opportunity to give fans a new interactive way to experience the show. And given that this is interactive entertainment, it seemed ideal. โ
The Game Awards, produced by Geoff Keighley, is one of the most widely broadcast events on the planet, with a record 83 million live streams. It brings together game industry creators, esports champions, Hollywood influencers and celebrities for a night of awards, exclusive world premieres, announcements and musical performances, including the return of the Game Awards Orchestra led by acclaimed composer Lorne Balfe.
