The iQoo Neo 5s smartphone is reportedly slowly approaching its launch, and now ahead of its launch, a number of official teasers about the smartphone on Chinese social media platform Weibo have revealed the device’s key color options. According to reports, the device will be released in three color options – orange, black and a gradient shade of blue. The latter is what another iQoo brand, Vivo, itself sells under the “Aurora”color melange. Interestingly, while the black and blue gradient color options don’t have any special branding on the back, the orange variant appears to have the Neo logo on the back.
The iQoo Neo 5s tips will be launching in China in the coming days and it’s not entirely clear if the device will also be introduced to global markets. According to leaks around the smartphone, the device should become the flagship of the category. According to the specs, the iQoo Neo 5s will apparently offer the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC along with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This performance configuration is joined by a 6.56-inch Full HD+ display based on an OLED panel.
Other key features of the iQoo Neo 5s include a 48MP triple rear camera based on the Sony IMX598 image sensor. The smartphone can also have a 16 MP front camera and a 4500 mAh battery can power the setup. It may also have 66W fast charging and will run Android 12 based on OriginOS according to reports. The overall design appears to be fairly standard, with a large rectangular rear camera taking up a good portion of the back of the smartphone.
Elsewhere, reports have also begun to emerge of the iQoo 9, which could be the brand’s next-generation flagship smartphone. The latter is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and will feature a 50MP triple rear camera and 120W fast charging, among other specs. However, the key difference is that while the iQoo 9 is expected to be the flagship of the next generation, the Neo 5s can offer the flagship specs of yesteryear in a recent device – and therefore can offer buyers a great deal.
