Activision: Infinity Ward is developing a new Call of Duty

Infinity Ward confirms the development of the next part of the Call of Duty license.

2022’s Call of Duty has been in development for nearly three years and is set to be a 2019 sequel to Modern Warfare about Colombian drugs. A scenario that would have moved away from 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 while confirming the new direction taken by the remake/reboot that had nothing to do with 2007’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

If the first trailer is potentially scheduled for this summer, perhaps as part of a new edition of Summer Game Fest, Activision’s new Call of Duty should mark the end of the yearly license. Not yet officially bought by Microsoft, the American publisher would like its studios to now devote more time to other projects besides regularly monitoring Warzone or even improving the overall experience of the famous FPS.
