Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok New detailed dive showcases new gameplay, worlds and more

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s next major expansion will be the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC. The DLC expansion will tell the story of Eivor as Odin/Havi in a thrilling adventure through Norse mythology.

Dawn of Ragnarok is scheduled to release on March 10, 2022 and will be available on all platforms where Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available. The DLC expansion is a major foray into the fantasy RPG elements that the franchise has been toying with lately.

The latest deep dive showcases a vast world where players will discover and explore new worlds, fighting all sorts of new types of enemies. Ubisoft says Dawn of Ragnarok is the most ambitious expansion in the Assassin’s Creed franchise yet.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok, the most ambitious expansion in the series’ history

The Deep Dive provides more information about the story of Dawn of Ragnarok as it follows Odin arriving in the realm of Svartalfheim in an attempt to save their son, Baldur. The main antagonist of the add-on seems to be the unkillable giant Sutra.

As the name suggests, Ragnarok looms over Odin as he wrestles with fate itself. The story will begin when Eivor consults with Valka and she explains that they must investigate Odin’s memories and find out where their destiny is leading them.

The main location in which Dawn of Ragnarok will take place seems to be Svartalfheim, the realm of the gnomes, full of surreal landscapes and titanic forces. New enemy types include Jotnar and Muspell, ice and fire invaders that look like they can strike.

As you might expect, Odin will have new active abilities that will help both in combat and in health, as well as in moving around the worlds. The sheer variety of abilities on display seems far removed from the roots of the series, but it seems to be exactly what Ubisoft is trying to convey with the new expansion.

After purchasing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok will be available in Valhalla at any point in history.
