Best Buy will pick up your unwanted appliances, household appliances and money

Best Buy announced on Wednesday a new recycling service for technology products and home appliances. For $200, the company will come to your home and pick up unwanted TVs, computer monitors, kitchen appliances, and more.

The Best Buy Standalone Haul-Away service accepts up to two large items such as all-in-one computers, various types of televisions, hobs and refrigerators. They also take unlimited small devices and appliances such as laptops, hard drives, game consoles, keyboards, calculators and curling irons. But there are things that even Best Buy don’t need, like your old 8-track discs, DVDs, Blu-rays, software, tools, toasters, and waffle irons. You can see the full list of what Best Buy will and won’t take here.

Best Buy will provide a 20 percent discount on the service to Best Buy Totaltech members, which includes services such as 24/7/365 Geek Squad access and free 2-day shipping for $200 per year.

While Best Buy will already get rid of your old TV and large appliances for $30 and some fitness equipment for $50 if you buy a replacement from them, the Standalone Haul-Away service doesn’t require any other purchases other than a $50 fee. 160-200 dollars. It also does not accept fitness equipment.

Of course, there are cheaper ways to get rid of old appliances and home appliances. There are free recycling programs for appliances and household appliances, including government ones, that allow you to donate your products or leave them on the side of the road. Best Buy itself has a return program that gives you gift cards in exchange for up to three recyclable technologies and appliances per day. You can also donate food if you still need it.

But for people who have physical disabilities or don’t have a car, or who live in tall apartment buildings, getting something like a large rear-projection screen TV out the front door might be impossible. Now you can save yourself some back pain and/or travel and make room for your new OLED TV as well as your bank account.
