[Exclusive] Vivo X80 Pro, Vivo X80 Colors, RAM and storage options revealed ahead of launch

Vivo X80 Pro and Vivo X80 will go on sale next week. Ahead of the highly anticipated launch of the company’s next flagship phones, here’s a tip from an industry source that reveals RAM, color, and storage options. One of the biggest disappointments for Vivo fans will be that the company is not launching an orange color variant in the country, according to an industry source.

So far, teasers have confirmed that the company is releasing two smartphones, the vanilla Vivo X80 and the Vivo X80 Pro, based on Chinese launches.

Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro Storage and RAM options

An industry source has confirmed that the Vivo X80 will be available in two variants, one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and the other with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The Vivo X80 Pro will come in one configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Chinese version of the smartphone does not have an expandable memory slot, which is likely to be the case in the Indian version as well.

Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro color options

Vivo X80 and X80 Pro will have different color options. Our industry source tells us that the former will be available in black and blue, while the fully loaded Vivo X80 Pro will only be available in black. Judging by the Chinese launch, both the X80 and X80 Pro have glass backs, but the X80’s blue variant is more like a blue tint in the global variant. The black variant of the X80 Pro has a matte and velvety finish.

In the Chinese variant, the regular Vivo X80 comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. This is Samsung’s E5 panel, which refreshes at 120Hz and has a resolution of 1920×1080. It has a center cutout for a 32MP selfie camera. The highlight of the phone is the camera system. So you have a 50MP Sony IMX866 main sensor paired with a 12MP ultra-wide and 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and 20x hybrid zoom. The optics of this camera system are made by the German manufacturer of photographic equipment Zeiss. It comes with Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating.

The internals are powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, which is paired with Vivo’s own V1+ chip for better image processing and thermal performance. It runs Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12. 4500 mAh battery.

The Pro variant has a lot of differences from the vanilla X80. It boasts an LTPO screen with support for variable refresh rates up to 120Hz but has the same screen size. The global variant offers a choice of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and MediaTek Dimensity 9000. In addition, the smartphone has also received IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. It also comes with an under-screen ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The battery capacity is slightly larger – 4700 mAh.
