Halo Infinite: Co-op Campaign Now Expected in August

The Halo Infinite co-op campaign is now expected in August, and we’re not talking about split screen.

After many delays, 343 Industries hopes to bring the Halo Infinite co-op campaign to players sometime in August 2022. The studio announced this in an update to its roadmap. One important feature that was missing when the game launched on December 8th was the co-op campaign.

Halo Infinite co-op campaign expected in August

At the time, 343 Industries said they were planning to roll out this game mode in Season 2, starting approximately 3 months after launch. That being said, the studio has finally decided to delay the start of this season from May 2 to May 3 before revealing that the co-op campaign will unfortunately not be featured for the occasion.

From now on, 343 Industries explains that it is targeting August as the launch window for this game mode, but only for online co-op. Split screen co-op coming later. In other words, you will have to wait even longer if you want to invite a friend to play on the same TV. According to roadmap 343, this game mode will only appear in the third season, which will start on November 8 at best. And this is only a forecast, you can even read on the document that the exact date of availability has not yet been determined.

And it’s not about the split screen

A small consolation prize, so to speak, 343 Industries is also now targeted for next August so players can replay campaign missions. Additionally, the studio hopes to launch Force Mode in an open beta in September.

No doubt these many delays will leave already frustrated Halo Infinite players moaning, but Chief Creative Officer Joseph Staten said 343 is doing its best to add new features quickly while protecting the health of its team: “We know we need to provide more content and more features faster,” said Joseph Staten. “But sometimes we have to slow down to stay healthy and then move faster. But we are also actively looking for other ways to speed up the process.”
