Horizon: Zero Dawn has sold over 20 million copies

Days before the launch of Horizon: Forbidden West on PS5 and PS4, Sony Interactive Entertainment announces that sales of Horizon: Zero Dawn have reached a significant milestone.

PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst said on social media that Horizon: Zero Dawn has officially surpassed 20 million copies sold worldwide and 1 billion hours played (as of November 2021) thanks to sales of the PS4 and PC versions. The Guerrilla Games free download offered in the “Complete Edition”version of the “Play at Home”initiative is clearly incompatible.

So Horizon: Zero Dawn is on par with God of War (Santa Monica Studio), available since last month on PC after being exclusively on PS4 for four years, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (Naughty Dog), The Last of Us (Naughty Dog), Spiderman (Insomniac Games), and possibly Astro’s Playroom (Team Asobi). An impressive success for a new license that could prompt Sony Interactive Entertainment to produce a TV series or movie with PlayStation Productions over the next few years.
