How to Transfer Your Spotify Library to Another Platform for Free

Switching from one music streaming service to another is not easy. Here’s how to do it from Spotify to another.

There can be many reasons for leaving Spotify. Apple Music now offers a lossless quality option for less money. If you use Amazon Prime, Prime Music is free; If you have an Echo smart speaker, this is the cheapest way to stream music. Spotify also doesn’t have Neil Young or Joni Mitchell discographies. Whatever the reason, there has never been such competition between music streaming services.

And unfortunately, these services don’t really want to make your life easier by letting you export your music so you can have it everywhere with you. Fortunately, there are third-party sites, apps, and services that allow you to do this.

Use SongShift to Switch Spotify to Apple Music

If you have an iPhone or iPad and are switching from Spotify to Apple Music, use the SongShift app. The app has been a go-to solution for several years, and it’s still the best. Plus, it’s fast and free.

Well, in a way. Although SongShift sets a limit of 100 songs per playlist transfer, its library transfer feature is free. That is, if you want to transfer all your music to Apple Music and then recreate your longest playlists, you can use the free plan. SongShift supports Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Prime Music, Tidal, YouTube Music, Deezer, and Pandora, and you can even export everything to JSON or a text file. If you’ve taken the time to create playlists, it might be worth paying for the $4.99/month subscription, move all your playlists, and cancel your subscription.

To get started, open the SongShift app and connect your Spotify and Apple Music accounts. Then click the “More”button at the top. Click “Set up Source”, select Spotify in the “Songs”tab, and on the selection page, select “Full Library Transfer”.

Then click “Set Destination”in the “User Library”tab and select Apple Music. Click “Continue”and select “Finish”. Let SongShift do the work.

After that, you’ll find your music on Apple Music or any other platform of your choice.
