Michael J Fox: A documentary about the life of an actor Back to the Future

Director Davis Guggenheim will return to the career of Michael J. Fox and his struggle with Parkinson’s disease in the documentary.

Using archival and scripted elements, the documentary follows the life of Michael J. Fox, the unlikely story of a young boy from a Canadian military base who rose to stardom in 1980s Hollywood. A mixture of adventure and romance, comedy and drama, this story is full of nostalgic experiences and moments of cinematic glory, including the years after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 29. Intimate and honest, crafted with unparalleled access to Michael J. Fox and his family, it chronicles his personal and professional triumphs and failures, and explores what happens when an incurable optimist faces an incurable disease.

An untitled documentary for the Apple TV+ streaming platform produced by Concordia Studio. Davis Guggenheim, Annette Marion, Will Cohen and Jonathan King serve as producers, while Lauryn Powell Jobs, Jonathan Silberberg, Nicole Stott and longtime MJF producing partner Nell Fortenberry serve as executive producers.
