Mario Strikers: Battle League Football explains gameplay in video

“It’s like football if there were no referees and no rules in football.”

A five-on-five sport in the Mario universe, Strike allows the use of an assisted grip to throw a teammate onto the field in order to take the ball away from them, brutally knocking down opposing players (up to eight locally or online) in order to have better eyesight or even catch an S sphere to trigger a hyperkick to score two goals instead of one without being penalized with a red card because all shots are allowed to win. Players in Mario Strikers: Battle League Football can also improve their game and use strategy by equipping gear to boost their characters’ stats. These stats vary from character to character, including increasing the speed and strength of shots to improve chances of winning, or increasing their strength to resist grabs.

Using the Club Strikers mode, you can create a club of up to 20 strikers or join an existing team, then compete against others to earn points and move up the rankings through the seasons. Club managers can customize their club kit and earn tokens after each game, which are used to customize the club’s stadium.

Mario Strikers: Battle League Football launches June 10th exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
