Max Payne: Remedy Entertainment to develop two remakes with funding from Rockstar Games

The Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne remakes will be available as a single game called Max Payne 1&2.

With funding from Rockstar Games, Remedy Entertainment will use its own Northlight graphics engine to produce AAA-level video games remakes of early Max Payne games. According to the agreement, the Finnish studio will be able to receive royalties after the star firm recovers its development, marketing and other distribution and publishing costs for Max Payne 1&2 on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.

Return of Max Payne with remakes

The relationship between Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Games dates back to the original release of Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. Both of these games have left an indelible mark on popular culture, being praised for their neo-noir atmosphere, groundbreaking storytelling, and infamous bullet speed during intense gunfights.
