Ms Marvel, the new MCU superhero on the small screen

Pakistani-Canadian comedian Iman Vellani will play his first television role in Ms. Marvel.

Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel is a new original series that follows Kamala Khan, an American Muslim girl who grew up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and voracious fanfiction writer, Kamala is a superhero mega fan with a wild imagination, especially when it comes to Captain Marvel. However, Kamala feels like she doesn’t belong at school, and sometimes even at home, until she gains superpowers like the heroes she always looked up to.

Iman Vellani plays Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel. The cast also includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Sheikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapoor, Matt Linz, Yasmine Fletcher, Leith Nakley, Azhar Usman, Traveena Springer and Nimra Bucha.

Ms. Marvel will be streaming exclusively on Disney+ starting June 8th.

The episodes were directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah, Mira Menon and Sharmeen Obeid-Chinoy. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Bisha K. Ali serve as executive producers. The Ms. Marvel television series is co-executively produced by Sana Amanat and Trevor Waterson, with Bisha K. Ali serving as the head writer.
