Report: Sonos will finally make a soundbar that’s almost affordable

Sonos smart speakers are known for their ease of use and sound quality, not affordability. This is especially true for Sonos home theater products such as soundbars, which are only intended for mid-to-high-end markets.

reported by The Verge, the situation

Of course, there are even cheaper competing products from other brands, but this will be Sonos’ cheapest soundbar – the Beam retails for $449 and the Arc for $899.

The Fury (this may not be the final name) is reportedly slated for release on June 7th, and like many other Sonos products, it will be available in either black or white.

It will be smaller than the second generation Sonos Beam – 550 × 69 × 100 mm. (The Beam measures 651 x 68.6 x 100mm.) It won’t have a few features that the Arc or Beam has, most notably it won’t support Dolby Atmos and only have an optical audio port instead of eARC-ready. HDMI port. It will also lack built-in microphones and voice assistant support.

Home theater looks set to become a major focus for Sonos, which has historically focused more on music playback than TV, movie or video game sound. A few weeks ago, Sonos posted several job listings that mentioned plans to develop a “home theater OS”for future living room products.
