The upcoming Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro 2 phone was spotted on the Geekbench database a couple of weeks ago. In a new development, renders of the future rugged phone have now surfaced online, courtesy of OnLeaks and Zoutons. The renders show a design language similar to that of its predecessor, the Galaxy XCover Pro. Let’s take a closer look at the rendering, design, and specs of the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro 2.
Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro 2: what it looks like
The upcoming XCover Pro 2 will offer a waterdrop notch display. It appears to be a downgrade from its predecessor, which had a punch hole. There are bezels all around, as you would expect from a rugged smartphone.
The back of the device will house a dual rear camera module and an LED flash, as shown in the leaked renders. On the right edge of the phone are the volume rockers and the power button. The power button may have a built-in fingerprint scanner. The bottom edge will make room for the Type-C charging port, speaker grille, and main microphone.
Along the top edge will be a 3.5mm audio port, an additional microphone, and another button. Like its predecessor, the XCover Pro 2 will have a removable battery.
Specifications and features of the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro 2
The Galaxy XCover Pro 2 is said to offer a 6.56-inch waterdrop notch display. It should be an AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It’s unclear if Samsung plans to offer a higher refresh rate panel on its rugged smartphone.
As seen from the Geekbench listing, the XCover Pro 2 will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G octa-core processor, Adreno 642L GPU and 6GB of RAM. The phone will ship preloaded with Android 12 and may be eligible for the 4-year Android OS update policy that Samsung recently introduced. Its dimensions are said to be 169.5 × 81.1 × 10.1 mm.
