Venom 3: Tom Hardy is back

Sony Pictures Entertainment announces that the third film under the Venom license is currently in pre-production.

The construction of Venom 3 was officially announced by Sony Pictures Entertainment during CinemaCon 2022 in Las Vegas. An announcement that isn’t really surprising as producer Amy Pascal has already hinted that the film is in the planning stages. Despite a lot of negative reviews, the first two films starring Tom Hardy as the Marvel anti-hero (Eddie Brock) have grossed $1.4 billion worldwide to date.

Note that Venom: Let There Be Carnage, directed by Andy Serkis, released in October 2021, recorded the second best opening during the pandemic and the second best opening of all time for October with $90 million in the US. All this before Spider-Man: No Way Home recorded the second-best opening of all time in the United States and Canada with $260.1 million. Venom: Let There Be Carnage grossed $213.55 million in the US and $502 million worldwide.
