Xiaomi has announced the 12 series, which consists of three smartphones, but the successor to last year’s flagship has not yet appeared. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was unveiled early last year, but the company has yet to reveal when it plans to unveil the Mi 12 Ultra.
A new report shows that the Mi 12 Ultra could arrive in the second quarter of this year. The phone is also reported to be one of the first smartphones to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC. Let’s take a closer look at Mi 12 Ultra, specs, features and everything we know so far.
Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra could be out by June 2022
Popular Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo revealed that the Mi 12 Ultra will feature a stunning Samsung-made 2K curved display with a single notch on the front that houses the selfie camera. It is very likely that this is an AMOLED panel with LTPO 2.0 support and a high refresh rate.
In fact, the design could be a continuation of past leaks, revealing a large circular camera module on the back and an edge-to-edge screen. The phone is reported to have a large camera module, but not in the way past renders show.
The Mi 12 Ultra is rumored to include at least four rear camera sensors, one of which could be the much-requested telephoto lens. The camera system on the back can include the main, secondary ultra-wide, super telephoto and 5x zoom lenses. Xiaomi is expected to continue to dominate the DXO benchmarks.
There is a possibility that Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra could be the first smartphone to collaborate with Leica, similar to what OnePlus did with Hasselblad. A previous report said that the upcoming flagship smartphone will support 120W fast charging and a 4900mAh battery. It can appear in three variants: glass, ceramic and vegan leather.
