Xiaomi is about to introduce Redmi K50 Gaming Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition, design revealed

The first Redmi K50 series phone will go on sale on February 16 in the Chinese market. Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has started sharing teasers for the launch of the upcoming Redmi K50 gaming version.

In the teaser, the company has confirmed that the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will be released as a Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition. Along with this, the brand has also confirmed some of the key specifications of the gaming phone. Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will have the same design language as its predecessor. Redmi retains a pulsating LED around the camera module. The phone is confirmed to be available in two color options – Blue Ice and Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition.

The display panel of the device will house a selfie camera inside a notch in the center. The SIM card tray and volume rockers will be located along the left edge of the device. Whereas the power button and game triggers will be along the right edge. The power button on the device can be used as a fingerprint scanner.

The bottom of the device houses a speaker, a microphone, and a Type-C charging port. It will be equipped with a JBL Tuned speaker.

Specifications of Redmi K50 Gaming

Redmi has confirmed through official teasers that the upcoming Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor manufactured using Samsung’s 4nm process. This time around, the brand is moving to a Snapdragon processor in the Gaming Edition phone. Recall that the predecessor of the phone – Redmi K40 Gaming – is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor.

The brand has also confirmed that the device will use LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which is an upgrade over its predecessor.
