Asus has finally announced the launch date for the highly anticipated Asus 8Z smartphone in India. The device was confirmed to launch in India as early as July, and more than seven months later, the company announced the launch of the phone in the Indian market. The Asus 8Z, for those who don’t know, is the Zenfone 8 that launched globally back in June 2021 and today’s announcement definitely came as a surprise.

Asus will launch in India on February 28 at 12 noon. The phone will be sold on Flipkart and the event will be streamed live on Youtube. Asus has prepared Milind Wushu Soman for launch in India.

The Asus 8Z is one of the most compact phones in recent times with an AMOLED screen size of just 5.9 inches. The phone weighs 169 grams and is 69mm wide. The 8Z has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. This is a full-fledged flagship phone in a compact form factor. Inside the device is the latest generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and 5G support.
In terms of camera, the Asus 8Z features a 64MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture (Sony IMX686), a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a 12MP selfie camera. The phone is powered by a 4000mAh battery and also supports 30W fast charging.
Other features of the device include an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual stereo speakers, IP68 water resistance, and in terms of software, the XZenfone 8 runs Android 11 out of the box, it will be interesting to see. if Asus 8Z starts with Android 12.
