Apple Music now offers live sessions with spatial audio

Apple Music offers live spatial audio sessions. What convinces users to stay and encourages new ones to join the ranks?

Streaming services must constantly innovate if they want to remain competitive, retain their users, and, even better, attract new ones. These platforms have various levers at their disposal to do so. In addition to the title catalog itself, with more or less exclusive ones, there are also features. Services today seem to rely heavily on sonic immersion. To counter Spotify, Apple Music now offers live sessions with spatial audio.

Apple Music offers live sessions with spatial audio

Apple used to offer exclusive content, but today the American giant is using it to fight its competitors more directly. The Cupertino-based company has launched a series of Apple Music Sessions, which, like Spotify Sessions, consist of live performances by famous artists in specific venues. Unsurprisingly, Apple highlights the technical specs of these streams so you really feel like you’re there – all songs in spatial audio and video performances are available if listening wasn’t enough for you.

What convinces users to stay and encourages new ones to join the ranks?

The first sessions available should appeal to country fans as Carrie Underwood and Tenille Towns perform their greatest hits and covers at Apple Studios in Nashville. Upcoming releases include Ingrid Andress and Ronnie Dunn. Of course, there will be other music as well. Don’t panic if you don’t particularly like the country.

Apple’s strategy is very clear here anyway. As with other Apple exclusives, from the first iTunes Originals to the latest Spatial Audio offering, it’s all about giving users more reason to stay on board or others to join Apple’s service. Today, the American giant is not afraid of competition and hopes it can attract certain Spotify users, or at least convince Apple Music fans to stay.
