Bruce Straley returns to the video game industry with Wildflower Interactive

Bruce Straley’s new studio, Wildflower Interactive, is working on its first project with a mysterious partner.

Former Naughty Dog (Uncharted, The Last of Us) strongman at Sony Interactive Entertainment Bruce Straley explains why and how Wildflower Interactive was created: “In 2017, I left that medium not knowing if I still wanted to make games. But the farther I went, the more I continued to think about this medium, about everything that remained for me to do, and about everything that I still wanted to do. And this idea continued to haunt me. So I got my friends together and we started making prototypes. And the idea began to take shape. She started getting excited again! And I realized that I need to make this game, but if I have to make this game, then I have to build a team. And if I’m building a team, I have to build a business. And, if we have to do it, then we have to do it right. This new place must be inclusive, fair and collaborative. It should be filled with kind people who want to grow both professionally and personally. The culture needs to be as collaborative as how we make games. That’s what we do!”

With the help of an as-yet-unnamed publisher, Wildflower Interactive is looking for new talent: “We have an interesting partner who supports what we do and helps us reach the widest possible audience. We already have a great team that I’m proud to be able to work with every day. And we need more great people, so we’re hiring. Join us. I know it’s a little weird for a video game fan like me, but I’m really excited about this announcement and what we’re building here.”
