The head of TikTok Gaming is leaving the company to launch a blockchain gaming startup.
The head of TikTok’s gaming division, Jason Fung, has just announced his departure from the company to launch MetaO, a startup specializing in blockchain-based video games. In his own words, he is leaving “his comfortable corporate life”to take a “gigantic risk”with MetaO. Having worked for many years in the video game industry, he now wants to offer developers new solutions.

In an interview with Reuters Hong-Kong, Jason Fang specifically stated, “Now if you look at any developer when they implement NFT or blockchain into their games, they have to choose one blockchain, be it Polygon, Solana or Binance. Smart chain. But imagine a more compatible option.”
Among its new managers, Jason Fung will provide MetaO expansion, creating an ecosystem tailored for developers and partners. The rest of the team and investors remain secret today, but the company hopes to raise funds through the issuance of tokens, as well as through more traditional channels, namely from venture capitalists and business angels.
