This week, GodLike Esports has once again been in the public eye as images have now surfaced that suggest the organization may have ripped off the jerseys of another popular esports organization. In a recent Twitter post by Jack Lucky, it was indicated that GodLike Esports took some rather “liberal”design cues from the 2020 G2 Esports League of Legends jersey.
The jersey bears a striking resemblance and contains the same gold motif on a black background as the T-shirts. Esports fans and enthusiasts seem to unanimously agree that GodLike’s new t-shirts are clearly identical to G2, but shortly after the post went viral, GodLike Esports founder Chetan Chandgude responded to the claims via Instagram.

Chandgude claims that the designs of the t-shirts were inspired by G2 League of Legends t-shirts, but they were never actually sold publicly. As of now, G2 Esports has not made any public statements as to whether they will be taking legal action against GodLike Esports.
Changude goes on to explain that the organization has already developed new T-shirts that it plans to introduce soon. His explanation of the similarities between the two designs did not seem to please the community, but there are parts of the community who feel that the organization’s decision not to sell the shirts in question was a good move on the part of the team.
GodL has been embroiled in controversy with another popular esports organization in India, TSM. The “feud”began to take shape when TSM accused GodL of signing a player they claim is still under contract with TSM. Both organizations have publicly released statements suggesting they will be taking legal action against each other in connection with the signing of said player.
