Former producer, chief executive and business director of Japanese publisher Square Enix Shinji Hashimoto joins Sony Music Entertainment Japan as a senior advisor and ForwardWorks as a board member.
Despite leaving Square Enix, Shinji Hashimoto is finally a long way from retirement. Formerly a strong figure in Final Fantasy licensing, he decided to take on a new challenge at Sony Group Corporation through Sony Music Entertainment Japan and ForwardWorks subsidiaries: “In my previous job, I was always supported by both other industry players and countless fans, and I want to continue direct their efforts to create entertainment.
I’m moving on, but it may be a while before I can tell you exactly what I’m working on with these new features. When the time comes, I will definitely let you know everything. This will be a new adventure for me as I am getting a bit older at 64, but as always, I appreciate everyone’s support. For those who read these lines around the world, give me time to tell you more. To all the creatives, I look forward to working with you!”
