Apex Legends: How to identify ammo, weapons, locations and more

Apex Legends is a free-to-play first-person shooter battle royale game from EA Games. Three teams of players compete in it. Having said that, you need to have a coordinated strategy among your teammates. Just like other FPS games, you can track the location of enemies, ammo and weapons to notify your teammates. But since this feature is little explained, some players are confused. So here is our guide on how to ping ammo in Apex Legends.

How to check ammo in Apex Legends

You can transfer ammo or weapons to your teammates by aiming at them and pressing the default keyboard shortcut. When prompted in the ping menu, select one of the messages to notify your teammates.

Here is the default keybinding for ping for different platforms:

  • PC: Press the scroll button or mouse wheel to open the ping menu.
  • PS4: Press the R1 button to check your ammo and weapons.
  • Xbox One: Press the RB button to open the ping menu.

You can also choose from a wide range of different messages for your teammates. In addition to checking ammo and weapons, you can also request these items from your teammates. You can also send the location of your enemies. All you have to do is open the ping menu to select them. Here are all the callouts to choose from:

  • Someone was there
  • Watching here
  • Protection of this area
  • I’m coming here
  • attack here
  • Looting this area
  • Enemy
  • Jump or ping a location

You can also assign specific keyboard shortcuts to these above callouts. Follow these steps:

  • Go to Settings and select the Mouse/Keyboard tab. For console players, select the Controller tab.
  • Then scroll down until you find Communication Settings.
  • Select a ping message or callout to assign or change the key binding that is applied.
